Strategy, a Michael Saylor-founded company previously known as MicroStrategy, now holds over 3% of bitcoin’s total supply, as confirmed by an announcement.

  • The purchases were said to be made at an average price of $119,666 per BTC.
  • The funds for this acquisition came from the proceeds from sales of its 179,687 STRK, 162,670 STRF, and 140,789 STRD preferred stock shares.

Through an on-chain experiment, it was revealed that Solana can handle more than 100,000 TPS, more than 25 times the network’s typical throughput.

  • The experiment made Solana do 107,540 TPS on mainnet, surpassing Visa’s 65,000 TPS capability.
  • The experiment was done by pseudonymous validator Dr. Cavey PHD, where blocks were filled with “votes, a few normal transactions, and a significant number of ‘no-op’ transactions,” or those that don’t require much computation.
  • According to Dr. Cavey PHD, high capacity enables the world’s markets to all be on-chain, urging Solana to be more scalable.
