The Singapore Exchange (SGX) will enter the cryptocurrency derivatives market this year by introducing Bitcion perpetual futures.
According to a Bloomberg report dated 10 March 2025, the SGX plans to list Bitcoin perpetual futures in the second half of 2025.
“The company will strictly target institutional clients and professional investors, with retail customers barred from trading the instruments,” SGX spokesperson told Bloomberg.

Monetary Authority Of Singapore Yet To Weigh In

Furthermore, by offering these products, SGX aims to provide institutional investors with a secure and transparent platform for cryptocurrency exposure while mitigating risks associated with unregulated exchanges.
However, this is possible only after the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) signs off on it.

In December 2024, Singapore granted 13 cryptocurrency licenses to major industry players, including OKX, Upbit, Anchorage, BitGo, and GSR, in the past year. This marked more than double the licenses issued by the city-state in 2023.
