Mark T. Uyeda established a new crypto task force to solve the problems related to the unclear crypto regulatory rules & laws.
Mark T. Uyeda is a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), appointed in June 2022 and currently he is acting chairman of this regulatory agency. Before becoming the commissioner, he worked as a career attorney at the SEC and held roles in various financial regulatory capacities. His work focused on securities law, corporate governance, and regulatory policy.
On 21 Jan 2025, Mark Uyeda announced the establishment of a new Crypto Task Force to develop a fresh regulatory framework for the crypto sector.
This new crypto task force will be led by pro-Crypto SEC commissioner Hester Pierce, popularly known as Crypto mom in the crypto space.
Stuart Aldetory, the chief legal officer at the San Francisco headquartered blockchain firm Ripple, shared his happiness that the new SEC’s acting chairman addresses the war between the SEC & Crypto space, which created huge confusion for the crypto companies regarding their corresponding business operations.
Ripple officer said that he is open to working with the SEC body to help them reverse the damage the crypto sector faced over the last half-decade.
