What’s the Significance? This is a confirmation that Worldcoin verification in the Philippines will continue for the foreseeable future.

Cash-Out Services in Pandi, Bulacan

Similar to what happened in Plaridel, cash-out services are available in Pandi, Bulacan, allowing participants to convert their $WLD tokens into cash.

How Cash-Out Services Work

  • Cash-out providers buy $WLD and send cash via GCash or hand over physical money.
  • Participants do not need a verified PDAX account to sell their tokens through these informal services.
  • The Worldcoin organizing team recommends having a PDAX account, as $WLD is supported on the exchange.
  • Participants must pay a fee for using third-party cash-out services.
  • Cash out services are being offered through online posts in Facebook Groups “RESIDENCE3 BARANGAYMAPULANG LUPA, PANDI BULACAN,” “PANDI BULACAN NETIZEN,” “WORLD COIN TRADE,” AND “LEGIT AHON PANDI.”

Warning: Potential Scams in Cash-Out Services

Meanwhile, a crypto influencer with a YouTube name, “The Homebase Edit,” warned participants that there are scammers that introduce themselves as cash-out service providers.

  • The modus operandi, according to his content, of scammers is they will act as “helpers” and will offer to a participant that they will help the participant grow their $WLD.
  • For this to happen, the participant needs to transfer their assets to the helpers.
  • But once the $WLD has been sent, the scammer will run away.
  • He also warned that there are cash-out services that buy $WLD from verified participants for ₱1,200, when it should be more than ₱2,500.

Key Statements From Concerned Entities About Worldcoin Activities in Bulacan Province

Different entities have already given their statements regarding the ongoing iris scanning verification process of Worldcoin in different municipalities in Bulacan.

  • Tools for Humanity, the developer of the World app, confirmed in a BitPinas inquiry that the activities in Bulacan are part of its “closed beta” operations in partnership with a local entity.
  • The National Privacy Commission, a local independent data privacy watchdog, said in an email to BitPins that it does not approve or clear activities related to personal data processing but provides Certificates and Seals of Registration.
  • Web3 Bulacan, a local blockchain organization, clarified it has no ties to the ongoing Worldcoin registration and airdrop event in the province.
  • PDAX, a local crypto exchange, emphasized exclusively told BitPinas that it does not have any partnership with Worldcoin.
    • However, because $WLD is one of the assets available on the exchange, PDAX community managers are on site to provide assistance to ensure that customers have access to support on the ground.
